Social Events

After a succesful 2025, Isabel, our Social Secretary, is planning a number of events for 2026.

Here are some diary dates, with details to follow in due course:

On 25th April 10-Pin Bowling at Clacton Pavilion was enjoyed, followed by some food and drink.

On 23rd July we held another successful garden party in pleasant summer sunshine.

19th September - Evening Meal

7th November - AGM

3rd December - Christmas Lunch

P3 Volunteer Working Party

After several successful activities in 2025, Essex Highways is in the process of giving us some tasks for 2026.

We began by replacing some waymarks in and around Wix, followed by footpath clearance at Great Bromley.

 Another task, in conjunction with Essex Highways, was the King Charles III path and bridge works in Copperas Woods and Stour Woods,Wrabness. Have a look at the photo album in our Gallery. More KC3 jobs followed on Saturdays 7th and 14th March; and 23rd May. On 6th June extensive vegetation was cleared from Mistley FP13; see Gallery photos.

Please contact Michael Talbot to book your place for one of the future 2026 tasks. Bring along suitable tools, working gloves and footwear, and a drink/snack.

PPA Public Rights of Way

We have PPA 'Parish Focus’ days where some of us get together in order to walk the footpaths in one of Tendring's unadopted parishes.

During 2024 and 2025, we surveyed a number of Parish footpaths.

On 9th May 2026 a group of us walked a series of paths in Wix Parish. This effort resulted in us identifying a large number of reported issues which had been resolved, enabling Essex Highways to be updated and to close a number of calls.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM for Tendring District Ramblers took place on Saturday 1st November 2025. Its minutes appear on the Downloads page.

The 2026 diary date is 7th November.

Committee Meeting

The most recent meeting of the Tendring District Ramblers Committee was on 12th May 2026

The date of the next meeting is Tuesday 1st September at 3pm and via Zoom.
