At an AGM there was a discussion about who and what, under Ramblers, is insured. Some thought it was third party only, whilst others thought it included all walkers.

Whilst there is public liability insurance for all walkers on a published walk, some members are covered by personal insurance when carrying out a volunteer role recorded on Ramblers UK website, e.g. walk leading, P3, etc... For example, there may be several people on a walk who are registered to lead walks, but only the designated walk leader/s are covered and for walks published on a Ramblers website or app.

The Ramblers insurance policy does not cover any ad hoc unpublished walks by a group of walkers even if they are paid-up members of the Ramblers. Click here for the full text.
