An update to the Ramblers safeguarding policy

15 March 2024

As part of our continuous improvement of policies and procedures we’ve started updating our policy on safeguarding children and vulnerable adults to reflect advice from our partner organisations . Now, everyone under eighteen needs to be accompanied by a responsible adult, such as a parent, guardian, teacher or youth worker, when they participate in Ramblers walks and other activities.

Members are still welcome to bring along children for free, as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult.

If you would like up-to-date details about how to safeguard children and vulnerable adults on your walks, please see the Ramblers safeguarding volunteer toolkit held in the document hub. As a volunteer at the Ramblers you can access our volunteer resources on our volunteer portal once you have logged on. Click here to view Ramblers Safeguarding Polivy.
